October 22, 2009

The first annual Boston Book Festival kicks off this weekend in Copley Square, and two Boston-based etherweave clients are featured presenters—Elinor Lipman (The Family Man, Then She Found Me, The Inn at Lake Devine) and Tom Perrotta (The Abstinence Teacher, Little Children, Election). Also on-hand will be sponsors PEN New England and Grub Street.

A number of etherweave friends will be there, too, including Stace Budzko, Andre Dubus III, Joseph Finder, Ethan Gilsdorf, Jennifer Haigh, Bret Anthony Johnston, Scott Kirsner, Hank Phillippi Ryan, and Anita Shreve.

Keep your eyes peeled for even more Boston area literary greats! We've heard that Christopher Castellani, Michael Lowenthal, Scott Heim, Stephen McCauley, Mameve Medwed, Heidi Pitlor, and more will be making the rounds. (Bring your unsigned books!)

See you there!

Michael Rowe Blogging for Huffington

etherweave client debuted column this month

April 30, 2009

This month Canadian author and journalist Michael Rowe, etherweave client (and dear friend), began writing for the Huffington Post. His most recent column, "What an Ogress You are, Congresswoman Foxx", appeared today, in which Rowe mercilessly excoriates one of the more extreme representatives in the United States Congress (a Republican from North Carolina) for her bigoted speech on the House floor in opposition to new hate crimes legislation. Bravo, Michael! Other recent entries offer perspectives on Cuba (Canada has a normal relationship with that country), as well as the recent defection of Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) to the Democratic Party.
